Illinois is terminating registration for distant sports activities betting
At this pace NY mobile sports betting could do the rewind every week. Legislators in the Empire State just can’t get on the same side.
Some of this week’s top stories include Illinois abolishing remote registration, a pair of Sports betting Bills fail and a Michigan casino rewards vaccinated customers.
Be sure and follow the directions for even more coverage @VisitPlayUSA | @reporternickg | @brantjames for the latest information.
Illinois ends remote registration
The end of remote registration for IL online sports betting Accounts has come to an end.
Governor JB Pritzker Announced Friday he would not renew Implementing Ordinance 2020-41, This enabled customers to register for sports betting accounts remotely.
The move is expected to direct traffic back to the Illinois casinos – which is exactly what the stationary facilities want. I’m painting a picture: a person goes to a casino to register for a sports betting account. You get hungry and decide to buy something to eat. Then they decide hell; I’ve driven all the way, might as well have a good time and spend more money.
Sports betting will survive. But casinos in the US need to work to restore their customer base after a long absence. While exiting remote registration isn’t the best thing for the sports betting industry, it sure does Retail locations benefit.
Take away: Everyone knew that day was coming; We just didn’t know it was going to be this soon. With the amount of money the casino industry is pouring into the treasury, it was only a matter of time before they found their way.
Georgia Sportsbook Bill eliminated
Much like UCLA’s hopes, Sports betting in Georgia was eliminated in the last second.
The bill was a long shot, but it overcame several major hurdles before finally dying on the floor of the house.
If the bill had passed, GA residents would have voted on the fate of sports betting in the 2022 elections. Now they have to wait until the problem may be picked up next year.
Take away: The winner of this political saga is Tennessee. Since no other state offers sports betting, Georgia residents are required to do so Keep going north Place bets in TN.
Kansas sports betting bill could also be eliminated
Kansas Sports Betting may have missed the opportunity to go legal.
The KS House Committee of the Whole Voted SB 84 with 77-40 votes. The bill would have expanded the state lottery, allowed retail sports betting in all four commercial casinos, and allowed wagering on tribal properties across the state. In addition, retail bets would have been taxed at 5.5 percent and mobile sports betting at 8 percent.
There is hope in the form of HB 2444, a more online forward sports betting bill that could be the new vehicle in the state parliament.
Take away: The legislative period ends in May. There is still time on the clock, but it closes quickly. The state has to find out whether it can convert SB 84 or whether it wants to blow everything up in the eleventh hour and submit a lottery-oriented bill.
Is New York Mobile Betting a Total Mess?
Mobile sports betting in New York was finally included in the state budget.
And it seems the winner is Governor Andrew Cuomo. Or is it the state of New Jersey?
Unfortunately, Rep. Gary Pretlow and Senator Joseph Addabbo Jr. failed to convince the governor to move away from his state sports betting model.
The New York State Gaming Commission (NYGC) will open a tender process to select two “platform providers” to monitor four mobile sports betting skins. Additionally, the rest of the bill is a dysfunctional mess that will be analyzed and talked about for the rest of the year.
Take away: On the one hand, New Yorkers will finally have the ability to place bets from anywhere in the state. On the flip side, the Empire State is forecasting a ridiculous government revenue of $ 500 million by year three. It will be a few more months before the first bets are placed, but the biggest question remains, what will sports betting actually look like when they go live.
Win Wyoming Sports Betting
Sports betting in Wyoming is a signature that cannot be legalized.
After a 24-5-1 vote by the Senate HB 133 went through the house with ease with 36-20-4 votes. Now the invoice is waiting for a signature from Governor Mark Gordon.
The bill legalizes online sports betting across the state, with bettors having access to at least five mobile sports bets. In order for an operator to enter the Wyoming sports betting market, they must be active in three other states.
Take that away: The Wyoming Gaming Commission plans to start on September 1, that’s just before the start of the NFL season 2021. The state can now prevent taxpayer dollars from getting into Colorado, Montana, and South Dakota, all of which started sports betting.
Michigan uses vaccinations
A casino in West Michigan caters to customers $ 20 in the free slot game for vaccination.
Gun Lake Casino said guests who present their COVID-19 vaccination card will receive the campaign as a “special thank you”. However, the free slot promotion is only valid for award members.
This is one of the first times a casino has offered guests free cash to receive the coronavirus vaccine. At the beginning of March the Scarlet Pearl Casino in the Mississippi announced that they would reimburse workers $ 150 per vaccination shot they receive.
Take away: $ 20 in free slots can go a long way. Encouraging customers to get vaccinated is not a bad idea. Perhaps other US casinos could introduce similar promotions.
