All Illinois regions, including Lake and McHenry counties, are well on their way to completing Aug.
Illinois is currently in the “bridging phase,” the final phase before phase 5.
Phase 5 is the complete reopening of the state with no capacity limits. Congresses, festivals and major events can also take place.
Pritzker said during a press conference Tuesday that the state was on the right track with metrics for Phase 5. “We are making remarkable progress in ending the pandemic – proof of the protective power of vaccines.”
Illinois reported just 478 new cases and nine more deaths on Wednesday. The state reported a positivity rate of 1.5%, the lowest since the pandemic began.
On Monday, the state reported 1,031 COVID-19 patients in hospital, the lowest number since the pandemic began.
More than 11.3 million vaccine doses have been given to Illinois residents at mass vaccination sites, local health departments, pharmacies, state-qualified health centers, mobile clinics, and other locations across the state.
The Illinois Department of Health reported that more than 67% of Illinois adults received at least one dose of the vaccine. 51% are fully vaccinated.
