College Affords a Diploma in Cloud Computing Infrastructure | information
Students can pursue cloud computing careers with the latest Collin College program.
The university has been approved by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACSCOC) to offer a Bachelor of Applied Sciences Associate (AAS) in Cloud Computing Infrastructure starting this fall.
According to Aparna Godbole, program director and professor of computer networks, cloud computing is a rapidly developing field with great job opportunities.
“The main goal is to enable students to train and acquire the skills necessary to find entry-level positions such as cloud support specialists and cloud administrators,” said Godbole.
The two-year program builds on domains of knowledge and skills developed by local, state, and national committees and input from industry experts on the university’s cloud computing advisory board. In addition, many courses in the program work with highly sought-after industry certifications such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure. The courses are updated regularly to meet changing work demands.
After earning an AAS degree in a cloud computing infrastructure, students can transfer their credit hours to a bachelor’s degree. This will be one of the first technical personnel degrees at Collin College to offer students a path to a four-year institutional bachelor’s degree.
The program is offered in the new IT Center on the Frisco campus and classes are offered with a combination of face-to-face and online classes. Further information on the program can be found at: collin.edu/academics/programs/CLCM_1Overview.html ..
